DISPLAY LOVE // Free People Spring

It may be grey and dreary outside still, but inside Free People, Spring has definitely sprung. I wanted to share what has been one of my favorite display elements to work on thus far-floral mandalas. It was so much fun coming up with different designs and color combinations, and I always love anything that combines nature and pattern...

(These particular mandalas can be found in Seattle, Corte Madera, Palo Alto, Philly and Houston)

Display Love // Free People Holiday

Hello! We just got done wrapping up Holiday display here on the West Coast and I wanted to share some of my favorite details from the season. This whirlwind round of display brought me to San Francisco, LA and Columbus, Ohio to open Free People's 4th largest store. Now that I'm back in Seattle I'm very much looking forward to bringing the holiday cheer home...Enjoy!

Photo Diary // Free People Bridgeport Opening

Well hello there! I know its been ages since I've posted, life has been absolutely crazy (in a good way) but I'm not ready to turn the lights off on this venture yet, so better late than never right? I wanted to share one of our latest Free People store openings in Bridgeport, Oregon. (It's near Portland) This was an exciting opening for me because I made most of the display from scratch to open with our Summer concept a couple weeks before we transitioned as a company. I'm absolutely in love with the colors, textures and overall vibe of our Summer display. It's 70's macramé, sea tones, and fringe all pulled together in one very Free People package...

Prepping for the trip meant honing my macramé skills, and having my hands in blue dye for weeks, making pieces the size of my house to reach the 22 foot ceilings. It's always so inspiring to work in a brand new beautiful space, (notice the sparkly walls and intricately carved wood) and such a reward bringing it from start to finish with a group of talented and dedicated women. And of course, hanging out in Portland for a week wasn't too shabby either. Consider this just a sneak peek of the Summer display we've been installing all over the country this month, more pics to come I promise! Until then...Enjoy!!

come.fly.with.me // Free People Aspen Holiday

Speaking of the beauty of mountains...one of the biggest perks of my job is Aspen. It is by far the most beautiful airborn view I have ever seen. The terrain just gets more and more stunning as you approach the top and I find myself glued to the airplane window every time I go...

And since Aspen is the place to be for the Holidays, we had to give it a little extra display love this season. My favorite element was these adorable hand painted vintage skis that our home office sent me to play with, and this is what I came up with...

Just a few snapshots of the Holiday magic happening in Free People right now...Enjoy!

An Artful Weekend: Galaxy Eyes

Happy Sunday! I'm off to Los Angeles today to help open our brand new Santa Monica Free People and I can't wait to be beach-side. There is just something about salt water, sand and clear blue skies that is just good for the soul. These gorgeous prints from Galaxy Eyes are like a little dose of that for your wall...

I hope your weekend was full of blue skies, or whatever your version of that may be...Enjoy!

FREE PEOPLE DISPLAY // Fall in Manhattan Beach

Happy Wednesday my friends! I wanted to share how we transformed Free People Manhattan Beach into Fall. This is such a fun store to work in because the windows look out to the beach below and the sun is always shining. Novelty denim is such a huge part of the Fall lines that we wanted to incorporate it into the Fall display. So I spent a good month bleaching, dying and sewing denim into tapestries to hang in the stores. Needless to say, when it came to constructing them for Manhattan Beach, we wanted to give them a beachy vibe...

I found this rich henna color to decorate the windows with, thanks to Montana's new line of paint pens, and it ended up being the perfect hue for Fall. And of course, after spending the whole month figuring out different bleaching techniques for denim, I couldn't help but transform some of my own denim as well...Enjoy!
