Love it / Live it: Speaking of the Ocean...

"Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Yesterday's 90 degree weather had me dreaming of the ocean more than ever. What I wouldn't give to have a whole day with the waves and the sunshine all to myself. I'm always fascinated with the never ending shades of blue and turquoise in the ocean's tide, and the crisp white of the crashing waves...

For now I'll have to satisfy my coastal craving with some gorgeous ocean photography and stunning resin dishware from Dinosaur Designs (made in Australia, is this a sign?!). You'd never feel far from the coast with these on the table..Enjoy!

Love it / Live it: Not so Neutral Neutrals [Dale Frank]

Happy Friday! Though I LOVE color, I'm just as fond of organic neutrals, where the flow and texture tells the story of the piece rather than the palette...

Dale Frank's gorgeous paintings are just as stunning in minimal hues as in his usual brights and these horn pieces from Deep Dark Africa bring that same organic energy to a space. I love the rhythm found in each piece's unique patterning...

and the composition created when the light hits them just so is simply breathtaking. I'm thinking I need at least a few of each of these to live on the dining room table, right?...hope you all have a wonderfully inspiring weekend, and until Monday, Enjoy!

Love it / Live it: The Color Purple [Wolf Kahn]

I'm normally not a huge fan of the color purple but this painting by Wolf Kahn makes me see it in a whole new light. I don't think the bright yellow-greens would have the same light if not set against the rich purple trees. The complimentary hues and highly saturated tones in this painterly landscape make it an unexpected feel good piece for me.
Sometimes it can be good and incredibly refreshing to change up your palette a little bit. This gorgeous tray would be the perfect addition to a traditional dining set without having to go the whole nine yards, yes, please!...Hope you're having a happy weekend...Enjoy!
